This is a practical tool for implementing a Safety Culture in veterinary anaesthesia.

Safety Culture is an approach that incorporates human factors, including the fact that to error is human. Its aim is not to eliminate all errors, but to put in place a system that prevents certain errors and detects any errors in time, thereby eliminating or limiting their consequences.

This version guides you to ensure that you meet the requirements recommended by the AVA (Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists). These requirements enable you to deal with potentially life-threatening situations that may arise during induction and/or anaesthesia. The design of this application is inspired by what has been done for over 70 years in aviation, where the effectiveness of Safety Culture is well established.

Here you will find Anaesthetic Procedures to help you prepare the prerequisites. You also have access to the Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Emergency Procedure, the emergency parachute, also a prerequisite recommended by the AVA.

Once you are ready, a checklist to be completed before induction will allow you to proceed with optimal safety.
