Welcome to the "light" and free version of the SafeAnaesthesia.Vet application!
This is a practical tool for implementing a "Safety Culture" in veterinary anaesthesia. This version guides you to ensure that you meet the requirements recommended by the AVA (Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists). These requirements enable you to deal with potentially life-threatening situations that may arise during induction and/or anaesthesia. Safety Culture is an approach that incorporates human factors, including the fact that to error is human. Its aim is not to eliminate all errors, but to put in place a system that prevents certain errors and detects any errors in time, thereby eliminating or limiting their consequences.
The design of this application is inspired by what has been done for over 70 years in aviation, where the effectiveness of Safety Culture is well established.
Here you will find anaesthetic procedures to help you prepare the prerequisites. Once these are ready, a checklist to be completed before induction will allow you to proceed with optimal safety.
You also have access to Emergency Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures, the emergency parachute, which is also a prerequisite recommended by the AVA.
The light version also gives you a preview of the features and richness of the full version.
